The Machina Peritia Difference
Not loud. Just impossible to overlook.
Machina Peritia carry a strong, controlled presence on the water, backed by uncompromising engineering for safety, stability, ride quality, performance and acoustic refinement. The result is an experience of effortless composure on the water – a sense of calm, confident power that is fast establishing Machina Peritia as one of the most coveted bespoke boat marques in New Zealand, and increasingly, abroad.
At Machina Peritia, there is no such thing as a “standard boat”. Every Machina Peritia vessel is a commissioned build – conceived around a specific owner, a specific brief, and a specific way of using the water.
Our evolution from Machina Boats to Machina Peritia reflects that shift: away from fixed models and towards a design-and-build practice where the platforms are ours, but the boat is entirely yours.
Monohulls: chambered confidence from 5.5–15m (18–49ft)
We specialise in chambered monohull designs from 5.5m through to 15m – known as pontoon hulls in New Zealand and chambered hulls in many other markets.
These hulls use multiple sealed chambers along the hull sides to deliver:
Exceptional at-rest and low-speed stability
Built-in redundancy and buoyancy for genuine safety
A calm, refined feel that doesn’t behave like a “typical” aluminium boat
Within that 5.5–15m envelope, nothing is off the shelf. Length, layout, wheelhouse style, cockpit arrangement, propulsion and fitout are all shaped around your brief. The chambered structure is our foundation; what you do with it is where the commission begins.
Hydrofoiling catamarans: 10.5–18m (34–59ft)
Alongside our monohulls, we’re developing a family of hydrofoiling catamarans from 10.5m to 18m.
These platforms are designed for:
High-efficiency cruising and extended range
Comfortable, composed ride quality at speed
Serious payload and liveaboard potential
Again, each foiling cat is a one-off commission. We start with the proven Machina Peritia architecture, then tune foil package, deck plan, superstructure, accommodation and systems around how you and your crew actually intend to use the boat.
Commission-only: no stock boats, no generic owners
At Machina Peritia:
We don’t build rows of identical boats.
We do build a series of individual projects that happen to share DNA.
Our process is simple and honest:
You come to us with a mission – fishing, family adventure, overnighting, commercial, or something that doesn’t fit a neat label.
We select or adapt the right platform – chambered monohull or hydrofoiling cat, within the size envelope that makes sense.
We design and build your boat as a commission – structure, layout, styling and systems all resolved specifically for you.
If the boat you have in mind doesn’t appear to exist in our current line-up, that’s exactly where we work best.
If you can clearly describe the boat you want, we’ll work with you to build it.
Machina Peritia is the evolution of Machina Boats into a true commissioned-build studio – from 5.5m chambered monohulls to 18m foiling cats – where every project is a collaboration with the person who will actually live with the result.
